I am a creative project manager, artist, photographer and curator.

Education: The University of Southern California Class of 2017 B.A, Photography and Design Emphasis

Ella Charon most recently worked at Creative Visions Foundation as the primary graphic designer, website designer and content manager and team member of the Dan Eldon Legacy program, dedicated to preserving and promoting the art and photography of late photojournalist Dan Eldon. She created all branding and marketing materials for Creative Visions and partner events, screenings and workshops. She created all web content and worked on the curating team for the Dan Eldon art collection.

As an artist, I work primarily in photography and video.  My passion for photography came my second year of high school.  I was taught by my father how to use his analogue camera and develop my own film.  I gained an in-depth knowledge of the camera’s function and the chemistry of photo processing.  I believe that my most recent work has come to be because of this early experience.  The work that I have created in the past two years addresses how the recording of light becomes the subject and creates abstract forms.  Light is responsible for all that we see.  By capturing light alone, I am to turn the camera in on itself.  I am very interested in creating photographs that act as a tautology of the camera; they are manifestations of the camera’s process affirming itself.  The viewer becomes aware of their relationship to the act of seeing and processing.
